Downhill skateboarding
In an article by Mark Morical which appears inBendBulletin.com, Stevan Panton, who can often be seen in the street hills of west Bend perfecting his sliding stop technique, says he hopes to start a downhill skateboarding league in Central Oregon.
Downhill is serious business and not without danger as boarders reach speeds between 30 and 60 mph (the world speed record is 66 mph.) but the Northern California Downhill Skateboarding Association consider that they are rediscovering the soul of skateboarding.
