World Championships

International cycling stars, including 24 Olympic medalists, converged on suburban Los Angeles last weekend to compete in the second round of the 2004/05 UCI World Cup series at the ADT Event Center in Carson, Calif. Providing a preview of the facility that will also host the 2005 UCI Elite Track World Championships 24-27 March 2005.

Two time US Olympian Erin Mirabella, who captured the bronze medal in this summer's points race in Athens, took one of the biggest wins of her career when she rode to victory in front of an adoptive hometown crowd ahead of Alexis Rhodes (AUS) and Adrie Visser (NED) .
