Waterman’s Weekend

The WATERMAN'S WEEKEND 2005 AUGUST 26-27, 2005, is a fundraising event that benefits the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Environmental Fund, a charitable foundation which awards grants to various environmental groups based on their dedication to preserving and protecting the world's oceans, beaches and waves.

The weekend event at St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa, begins with the Waterman's Classic Golf Tournament and Luau, the Waterman's Ball and Auction reigns as the main event, which not only allows the surf industry and friends to raise money for important oceanic causes, but to also honor significant contributors to their industry.

This year, SIMA have announced that it will honor three-time world champion Andy Irons as Waterman of the Year, former executive director of the Surfrider Foundation, Chris Evans, as Environmentalist of the Year, and legendary surf photographer Larry 'Flame' Moore with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
