Australians one and two in JBay

After surfing a tremendous final, in outstanding waves, Mick Fanning (Aus) has defeated Taj Burrow (Aus) to win the 2006 Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay.

Both finalists had agregate scores of 8.0 but with four minutes to go, Fanning scored an 8.73 to take the lead.

With six events on the tour down, Taj Burrow's second place puts him second behind Kelly Slater in the world rankings, with Andy Irons third. The next event is the Boost Mobile Pro in California on September 12, 2006.
