Torrential rains and gale force gusts have been toppling trees on Australia’s Gold Coast this weekend, creating highly unruly surf and putting a temporary hold on the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro events at Snapper Rocks.
The weather is set to improve again Monday or Tuesday. When the Quiksilver Pro resumes, the round three heat draw will be:

The picture shows ASP world champ Chelsea Georgeson (pictured top) sharing a wave with defending Roxy Pro champ Stephanie Gilmore in round 1. Shortly after this, Georgeson wiped out spectacularly after accidentally colliding with Gilmore's surfboard but went on to beat Steph by 0.07 of a point.
